As satisfying as blasting a zombie’s head off with a shotgun may be, Dying Light feels that it’s better to have a more personal touch, like bashing their head in with your elbow or a steel pipe, kicking them off the rooftops, or just plain old slicing them in half with an electrified axe. Need proof? Have a look.
Revealed back at E3 2013, Dying Light is an open world, first-person survival horror game. The city of Harram has been quarantined, but there are still survivors living in the city. They must contend with the horde of zombies roaming the street. Thankfully, you’re pretty agile and can easily outmaneuver most zombies you come across. When you must fight, you’ll have to rely on melee weapons, as firearms do not come by that easily. The zombies are a big enough threat just as they are during daytime. Nighttime is a different story altogether. That’s when the more powerful and faster zombies, called the volatiles, roam the street. It’s best not to wander the streets at night.
Dying Light will be released for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC. It was originally slated for a 2014 release, but has been pushed back to a February 2015 release window.
