Nihon Falcom has announced an agreement with NEOWIZ for the development and worldwide release of The Legend of Heroes III: The White Witch for consoles and PC worldwide. NEOWIZ is focusing on preserving the original’s story and atmosphere, and want to rework the game in a way that conveys the original’s charm to existing fans while also being enjoyable to new players. The company has previously worked on games such as Lies of P and DJMAX RESPECT V.

The Legend of Heroes III: The White Witch is the third installment in The Legend of Heroes series and the first in the Gagharv trilogy which preceded the long-running Trails series. It first launched in 1994 for PC-9801. In a survey conducted in commemoration of Nihon Falcom’s 40th anniversary, the Gagharv trilogy took first place in the “Games or Series You’d Like to See Released on Current-Generation Consoles” category.
