Fate/EXTRA Record, the remake of 2010 PlayStation Portable title, Fate/EXTRA, has announced its new publisher, Aniplex. This news comes after Bandai Namco Entertainment stepped away from publishing the game. Aniplex has previously published TYPE-MOON titles such as Fate/Grand Order, TSUKIHIME -A piece of blue glass moon–, and Witch on the Holy Night. In addition to this news, Fate/EXTRA Record will see changes to its overall development. Meteorise, which has worked on games such as Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian and BLEACH Rebirth of Souls, is now working on the game’s development. TYPE-MOON studio BB, the remake’s original developer, is restructuring. More information on the game is expected to release in September. Updated staff listings will be released in the future.
Kazuya Nino announced that he is stepping away from TYPE-MOON studio BB and resigning as the remake’s director. He has also removed his name from the staff credits as part of this decision. Nino apologized to the fans who were waiting for the game for not being able to see the game through to its completion. He asked fans to continue supporting Fate/EXTRA Record. Nino also announced that he will take a break from developing games for a while due to concerns with his personal health.

Fate/EXTRA Record is currently in development and planned to release for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and now, Nintendo Switch 2.
