Ordinarily, I run Tom Nook’s Snapshots from a Tuesday through Wednesday each week. I think that gives me a workable time period of seven days to both entertain and to give a realistic small snapshot of my Animal Crossing: New Horizons lifestyle. Next week, to finish out the year, it will be eight days long.

I will save my thoughts on playing this game for a full year for that entry, so please be sure to tune in for it!

A small party with Hazel and Snooty.

I am glad Nook’s Cranny sells mishumaa saba in a kinara instead of making it a random temporary item sold through Nook Shopping. I kind of dislike that a lot of holidays are just randomly sold through the five-item-max system and you have to get it in the mail the next day instead of instant gratification.

After digging up a money spot and planting a new tree, digging up new fossils, and digging up a whirroid, I happily hung out with Hazel and Snooty at Hazel’s home for a while. I was very surprised to see my Pi Day pie on display in her home, as that was months ago.

Other than that, not a lot happened today!

Talking to Sable in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Nook’s Cranny sold a dollhouse today as a gift item, and I absolutely copped that for someone on my island. I also found an upright speaker for sale, and I bought that too. I am thinking I am going to give it to someone who doesn’t have music in their home playing so they can start to have their own soundtrack. I also stopped around the island and talked to a bunch of my villagers!

Most importantly, I went to the Able Sister’s today, and I bought a full reindeer outfit for a few thousand Bells! I think it looks really cute and I cannot wait to wear it for Toy Day. I also bought a pair of worn-out jeans, and Sable gave me a new patterned fabric for my custom furniture.

Sable, like Isabelle, is a TV junkie. She told me that on Thursdays, she watches the newest episode of her favorite porcupine true-crime show, Pointed Questions. She also talked about how the DA is always badgering the witnesses. She also thanked me for helping Label out with modeling outfits, and for everything I do for their family. Finally, she told me the tapestry on the left wall belonged to their mother, and about how Sable feels warm, like her mother hugging her, every time she looks at it.

C.J. taking selfies as I complete a challenge.

Today, I bought a judge’s bell and a Moroccan tray table from Nook’s Cranny in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I then took them both over to the boxing ring I’ve set up at the northern part of my island, and I set it up there. It is a small thing, but I really like how it looks. I also cleared up a lot of the random flowers up there, too.

I then found C.J. wondering around, and he gave me a challenge to catch three “big-time fish” in a row. I wondered around my island for a while, and I completed it! I then sold the fish as well, and I pocketed 6,300 Bells from it. Finally, I asked Blathers to identify some fossils, but the museum had them all already.

Buying the robot hero DIY from Nook Shopping in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Today, Nook’s Cranny sold a pop-up book! I bought it for 2,400 Bells and stored it away for Toy Day. I also sold a bunch of odds and ends that I’ve collected for 18,300 Bells to Tommy, and I happily pocketed the cash as Snooty examined a ship in a bottle elsewhere in the store.

Because I played so early in the day today, I saw K.K. Slider was set up in the plaza with an audience around him, but he was not taking requests yet. I ended up going inside the Town Hall and checking out what I can spend my Nook Miles on. I settled on a robot hero DIY! I do not have all the ingredients to make one, however, and so it will just have to remain a pipe dream for now.

I also ran into Hugh after I dug up my money rock! He creeped me out by telling me he hung outside my home all day, except when he had to use the bathroom — and only because he didn’t think I’d want him doing that in front of my home. He’s right about that. He also talks to insects, because he said that his ‘bug friends’ said that he would find me.

Tutu talks about loving rainy days.

Today, Tutu made me pick between sunny days or rainy days. As I am always a fan of when raindrops keep fallin’ on my head, I picked rainy days. Tutu agreed with me and she told me about how she likes to hang out indoors and listen to the rain while playing video games or reading comics.

Otherwise, I spent today clearing out a huge section of roses from the southern part of my island. I decided I needed to start taking care of the lower part of my island by also trying to clear out all of those flowers, too. At one point, my shovel broke (again), and I bought a new one from Nook’s Cranny. Earlier in the year, I was definitely making my own…but now it is just a better use of my time to buy a flimsy shovel and then DIY it into a proper regular shovel.

I ran into Tutu again after I finished, and she gave me nurse’s cap to wear!

Shoji screen for sale in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Nook’s Cranny had something interesting today that I’ve not seen for sale before: a shoji divider. It was kinda psychedelic with all the random color squares pockmarking it, and I knew that I had to buy it for 6,000 Bells. When I checked out Nook Shopping, I then saw there were a bunch of New Year’s Eve stuff for sale, and so I bought the maximum amount (five) that I could that day for it.

Label also visited today! She asked for something outdoorsy that would be suitable for hiking or maybe camping. She gave me a retro sweater to wear, and I popped it on and modeled the full outfit for her. She liked it, and she said that I radiated the perfect outdoorsy look exactly. She said that she would mail me tailor tickets for my work for her. She also gave me a Labelle knit shirt, which I wasn’t expecting, too!

I stopped into the Able Sisters shop afterwards, and bought myself a pair of corduroy pants. Finally, I chatted up Sable again and she gave me another custom furniture fabric pattern and talked about having to work in the fabric mines.

Meeting Kidd for the first time while he is camping.

Today’s Toy Day toy for sale was a yellow tin robot for 4,200 Bells. I snapped it up immediately since I needed to make sure I had enough toys on hand for Toy Day tomorrow. I also bought the kadomatsu from Nook Shopping to be delivered to my home.

Leif came to visit again! Even though weeds (not flowers, actual weeds) are growing with abandon on my island now that the ordinance has changed, he still won’t clean them all up for me. That said, I did purchase the holly start from him in a five-pack. I don’t know quite where I am going to plant them, but I definitely want to do so.

There was also a new camper visiting my Animal Crossing: New Horizons island today. His name is Kidd, and he advocated about the fake tears and laughter of a performing lifestyle. He also talked about winter on my island specifically, but admitted he isn’t a winter goat. He asked what people do in the winter, and he decided to invent a new dance move or a new type of mulligatawny — which I had no idea what it was until I looked it up.

Finally, I swung by Brewster’s Cafe. He made me a cup of plain coffee, and I loved every bit of it. That was the perfect way to end this week’s Tom Nook’s Snapshots.
