This week marks the end of the non-holiday season for 2025.

Starting on October 1, each month has a major holiday in it: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. It also means this column is three-quarters of the way done. I keep having a hard time believing I’ve written a weekly column for the past nine months, but here we are.

I do love Animal Crossing: New Horizons, though. It makes me wonder if this is something I should consider doing into 2026…What do you all think?

If I do keep this column going, I would definitely want to have a logo for it…

If you missed last week’s Tom Nook’s Snapshots, you can check it out here.

Meeting Wisp in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Today, I met a ghost in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!

I discovered Wisp, who I called me a ghost and then lost all of the pieces of their spirit. I had to run all over Renassia and catch them with a net. They kept floating over water, and that made me realize that my island needs more bridges to connect the different places with it in a more convenient way. I asked for something expensive when I returned all the five pieces to Wisp, and he gave me an outfit I will never wear.

Redd was also around today! I saw a Mona Lisa that had arched, sharp eyebrows and looked really weird. I ended up settling on a Sinking Painting, but I don’t recognize the piece or the artist.

I also caught a giant water bug while I was out and about, but my Museum already had one unfortunately. Also, if you can’t tell from the photograph, I updated my hair style and dyed it for this week. I wanted to try something new!

Buying a backpack from Kicks.

With how busy yesterday was, today was much less so in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

It was absolutely pouring rain, and I stopped by Kicks to buy a Foldover-top backpack for 1,300 Bells. That…was it. I just did not have a lot of time to play today, unfortunately.

Getting stung by YET another scorpion in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

I encountered two scorpions today that I tried to catch, and I got stung by them both. I still do not have one for my museum and I do not know how to be sneaky enough to get one without getting stung first. They are just horrific to chase down!

Gullivarrr washed up today on Renassia’s shores, and I had to help him find his communicator in the deep water. He went on and on about how folx fear his piracy from Crocodile Isle to Keelhaul Key, but he always winds up on my island. Lucky me. While I was swimming around in the rain for his communicator, I did find a spotted garden eel and a sea urchin in the water, which my museum did not have! I was quite thrilled about that.

Finally, I harvested my overgrown crops, and it turned out that they (along with other things that I’ve collected) netted me 30,728 Bells. Overall, a pretty good haul and a pretty good day!

Flick talking with me during the Bug-Off.

It is the last Bug-Off of the year, and I finally made it to participate!

I did multiple rounds, and Flick was kind enough to comp the first one for me. Every time I caught more than three insects in each three-minute round, I would get more points. I kept consistently getting between six and seven insects a round, which was really nice, on my personal journey towards ‘True Infestation’ (as Flick put it).

I redeemed my rewards for a spider web, a spider doorplate, and a butterfly backpack! It was a lot of fun, and I was glad that I was able to finally do it at least once more before the year ended.

Almost as importantly: I got a new insect to donate to the museum! I caught a bunch of red dragonflies, and I held myself back from selling one of them to Flick so I could give it to Animal Crossing: New Horizons museum.

Finally, I stopped by the Nook Shopping kiosk, and I ordered the Dango, Moon rug, Songpyeon, and Moon Cakes to be delivered to my home.

All in all, a very fun and action-packed Saturday.

K.K. Slider playing a song in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

It was almost midnight by the time I played Animal Crossing: New Horizons today.

I headed immediately to the plaza to find that K.K. Slider rolled into town. I let him pick the song for this week, and he played Hypno K.K. for me and Tybalt.

It was a slightly haunting, mildly melancholic guitar theme that I enjoyed that sounded like something that would play over a movie’s end credits.

Buying plants from Lief.

I took the dango I ordered yesterday, and I set it up by the hot springs I had set up. I thought that would be a fun touch in Animal Crossing: New Horizons – especially since I had just recently made dango for the first time in real life.

I also found money in a rock, caught more insects to sell, and I purchased some Orange-tea-olive starters from Leif at his little plaza shop. I think I am going to plant them around my open-air gym when I finish excavating a lot of the remaining flowers. I did remove a lot more, but it is just incredibly time consuming to clean up an area of flowers. If I don’t get rid of them all or if I don’t then block off an area, then I will have problems for when they pop back up. That said, I did transplant one of the pine trees to the gym area today, too.

Finally, I bought a flashy-flower sign from Nook’s Cranny. Do not ask me where it is going to go or what I am going to do with it, because I have no idea. But it will go somewhere!

Curt telling me the suit of the card he drew in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

This week in Animal Crossing: New Horizons capped off with a campsite visitor!

Curt likes to say fuzzball, licks a striped lollipop, and he immediately pushed me to gamble with guessing the suit of the card he drew. I got it right, and I got a pair of flower sunglasses. Which is kind of weird, but I can go with it, I guess.

I didn’t particularly spark with him enough to evict someone who is already on my island, and so I didn’t push for him to move to Renassia.

Overall, it was a good week in game, but I miss my brown hair. But! I am really excited to see how Animal Crossing: New Horizons celebrates Halloween…

What did you accomplish this week in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

Do you like Curt?
