It has been a busy week for me in real life, but I actually had a lot of fun sneaking away to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons for a bit each day.
The one thing I really wish this game could do would be for me to be able to interact with more objects and actually use them. For example, I installed a climbing wall this week, but I cannot actually use it. I also bought a bright green beverage from Nook’s Cranny and I was unable to drink it.
I hope that whenever Nintendo makes another Animal Crossing game, there is more object interactivity present for me to enjoy.

By the time I played today, it was nearing 10 PM and I was exhausted. I stopped by Nook’s Cranny and looked at the merchandise before wandering my way over to Nook’s Shopping kiosk. I ended up spending 3,300 Bells on a New Reactions Notebook.
I was looking at all the new reactions it gave me, and I have to admit the Hula one is my absolute favorite. And at some point, I am definitely using the Flex one at my new outdoor gym that is (somewhat) built. I don’t use reactions as much as I should in Animal Crossing: New Horizons when I take pictures, only because I am too busy trying to figure out what to capture first!

Today, Nook’s Cranny was selling the coolest thing I had ever seen: a robot arm. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the 130,000 Bells on hand I would need to buy it. If I did, I would totally have taken it home with me and done…something…with it.
Other than that, I caught a snail! I also visited my outdoors gym and dug up yet even more flowers and dumped them into the trash bin. The whole thing is looking really nice now – at least, as long as I keep the roses under control. While I was working in the rain laying down new pathways, I ran into Cephalobot, who asked me if I could listen to his life story as he is writing his autobiography at the moment! Unfortunately, he backed off at the last moment without any prompting with me. I’d have loved to hear it.

I got a camper today in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! His name is Boris, his catchphrase is schnort (how do you even pronounce that?), and he likes to play card games for prizes with me. I won a tee with silicone bib off of him after I guessed a red diamond card was the one he drew.
What really weirded me out about him, though, was that he only makes chili while camping…but apparently wants to roast it on a stick. What? Really? It was just a bit off-putting, to be honest.

My Saturday night in Animal Crossing: New Horizons was full of listening to K.K. Slider play a private concert for me. I told him I was feeling a little blue tonight, and so he dialed up K.K. Chorale for me to hear. I wasn’t quite expecting to hear his interpretation of a slow guitar song, but I really did enjoy it and it just fit the mood perfectly.
Other than that, I decided I needed to mix it up next week with my hairstyle. I visited the Nook’s Shopping kiosk and I bought the Top 6 Stylish Hairstyles for 1,800 Bells. I haven’t looked at them yet because I want to be surprised next week when I whip one out for next week’s column!

I fished quite a bit alongside the ocean today in the rain today, but I unfortunately did not catch anything new. I ended up also throwing back quite a bit because my inventory was full and I just didn’t want to deal with sorting it all out or dumping it into my home storage.
I also found a message in a bottle that washed up on my shores! Inside there was a DIY recipe for a bamboo speaker, which I already knew for some reason. I have never made a bamboo speaker, but Animal Crossing: New Horizons wants to make doubly sure I know how to craft one if I wish to do so! Interesting items I can make in this game, sometimes…
But I do want to be inspired to action in my life.

Today, I saw a climbing wall at Nook’s Cranny, and I knew I needed it for my outdoor gym. I installed it so that its back is to the ocean, and I imagine you can hear and feel the ocean breeze as you climb higher and higher up it.
Aside from chopping down a money tree and pocketing the 30,000 Bells from it, I also ran into Hazel, who was sitting on the ground and who said she had not had any ‘face time’ with me lately. I know I’ve been busy a lot lately, but I didn’t think that I had been that busy.
But what really got to me tonight was that there was a grillout on the plaza! Camofrog, Tybalt, and Snooty were all grilling up kabobs and I wanted some. I joined them in their conversation and fun, but I found myself desperately wishing I could have had one of the snacks as well.
But what is with all this rain? It rained today too while I was talking with Cephalobot.

Today, Blathers identified an Iguanodon skull for me out of a fossil. Unfortunately, my Animal Crossing: New Horizons museum already had one, and so I ended up selling it along with a bunch of insects I had on hand too.
After talking Cephalobot out of leaving my island, I pulled out my umbrella because it was absolutely pouring today. It has rained a couple times already this week, and I was surprised to see it happening yet again.
The highlight/lowlight of today though? I stopped by Nook’s Cranny and found a bright green beverage for sale as a decoration in a two-liter bottle. I wanted to hold it so badly in my hands and drink from it (and I actually gifted one to Cephalobot!) but I found out I cannot do so. This actually makes me a bit sad. I am also kind of hoping it glows in the dark, because that color absolutely does not exist in nature…and yes, it did rain again today.
Have you had it rain multiple days in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
What is one item that you find it just completely ridiculous that you can buy in the game?
