While we here at Operation Rainfall love covering the latest in gaming news and sharing our reviews of titles new and classic, we also just enjoy playing games in our downtime. So with that, sit back, relax, and check out what the oprainfall gaming crew have been up to this week!
Most of this week’s gaming was still pushing through The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Skies series. I finished the first games and immediately started the second one. I mean after that ending how could you not? Hearing “Whereabouts of Stars” as the end theme is like rubbing salt into a wound. I think this is first game series I’ve ever played that the next game picks up on the exact same scene the previous game left off. I’m about 10 hours into the second game and completely hooked on this series now. I can’t wait to see where all this goes.
Other than that I played just a bit of Xenoblade 3. The new part of the expansion pass came out and I had to check the girls’ swimsuits, of course. Eunie and Sena look great, but Mio is just freaking adorable. She’s almost Nia cute… Almost! – Steve
I have been knee-deep in otome life all week. I finally finished Amnesia: Later x Crowd, and you can read my review of Amnesia: Memories right now! Turns out playing three visual novels back-to-back in an attempt to review them is actually a lot of work! But also absolutely worth it. I’ve got to say, this has been one of the most fun and emotionally rewarding gaming sessions I’ve had in a really long time. You’ll be able to read my more in-depth thoughts about Later x Crowd once that review is out, but I’ll share a couple quick thoughts here anyway. Since those two games are direct sequels to Memories, it was just a lot of fun to revisit these characters and see them more fleshed out, especially my boy Orion. I really enjoyed seeing the expanded scenarios, and Crowd in specific offered so many different routes and fun little mini-games it was hard to put down. Playing these games is so addictive; I totally get why Steve and Diego spend so much time on them! Outside of that, I managed to drag myself away from the Switch long enough to do some daily activities in Final Fantasy XIV and am prepping for the upcoming All Saints’ Wake event, which is always a delight. I’m also incredibly excited for the return of an in-person Fan Festival. Attending these are some of my favorite memories, and I am really looking forward to making more next year! – Leah
