Spike Chunsoft, Inc. released a statement today confirming what we have suspected for a while now, that CHAOS;HEAD NOAH has indeed been banned on Steam. They go on to say that the changes Valve requested would’ve “not allow the game to be released to its standards.” They are looking into alternative platforms to release the game on for PC.

Personally, I would like to see them put this game on JAST or GOG since they both have open platforms with the best payment methods and good libraries.

Here is the full statement:

Spike Chunsoft, Inc. today regrets to announce that it will not be able to release¬†CHAOS;HEAD NOAH¬†on Steam as originally planned due to Steam’s guideline-required changes to the game’s content. Spike Chunsoft, Inc. believes these changes would not allow the game to be released to its standards.

The company extends its sincerest apologies to all of the fans looking forward to this release.

The company is looking into delivering the title through alternative storefronts, and when details are decided will make another formal announcement. Until then your patience and understanding is appreciated.

Please also rest assured the Nintendo Switch version is not affected and will release on October 7, 2022, as scheduled.

About Steve Baltimore

Steve started with oprainfall not long after the campaign moved from the IGN forums to Facebook. Ever since, he has been fighting to give all non-mainstream RPGs a fair voice. As the site admin, he will continue to do this and even show there is value in what some would deem "pure ecchi." He loves niche games and anime more than anything... well, except maybe Neptune.
