During The Game Awards 2021, SNK revealed a new character coming to The King of Fighters XV (KOF XV) and announced a second open beta test. The new character is named Krohnen. Krohnen has a connection to NESTS, a shape-shifting arm, and seems to have a problem with Kusanagi.

The second open beta test will be available for users on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. There will be cross-play between the two platforms. Players will not need a PlayStation Plus subscription to participate. Beta testers will be able to play online (casual match, room match) and offline (versus, training, tutorial).
The KOF XV Second Open Beta Test will be available to play through the following periods:
- PST: Dec. 17: 7:00pm – Dec. 20 – 06:59am
- CET: Dec. 18: 4:00am – Dec. 20 – 3:59pm
- JST: Dec. 18: 12:00pm – Dec. 20 – 11:59pm
Players will be able to use the following characters:
- Krohnen
- Isla
- Meitenkun
- Antonov
- K’
- Blue Mary
- Ryo Sakazaki
- Terry Bogard
In addition to the new character and second open beta test announcements, pre-orders for the PC version are now open. Players can pre-order the game via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store. The standard edition costs $59.99 and the deluxe edition costs $84.99.
The King of Fighters XV launches February 17th, 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.
