In a recent video interview Masahiro Sakurai teased that the Mewtwo DLC for Super Smash Bros. is ‘pretty much done’ and  ‘is coming soon’. The fan outcry for the character has been massive so there’s no doubt that this will come as great news for many many fans. At least until they find out that he’s in the wrong tier and becomes the worst character ever. Mewtwo was announced as actual DLC back in October, but only for gamers who have purchased both the 3DS and the WiiU version. Now it has been clarified those fans will be able to get the Mewtwo DLC for free, whereas those with only one will be able to purchase it with real world money for a low price.

In addition, Sakurai says that the character Takamaru from the NES title Mysterious Murasame Castle was almost a character as well. However, Sakurai said that it had been decided that he had to be cut due to the fact that he was unrecognizable to most Nintendo fans. After all, the game did not receive an American release until 2014 on the 3DS eShop. Takamaru did however get to be an assist trophy for the hardcore fans.
