Earlier today, during Masahiro Sakurai’s latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter announcement stream, he announced that Sora, from KINGDOM HEARTS, was chosen as the final DLC character to be added to the game. He also revealed that years ago when Nintendo ran a poll for who fans most wanted to see added to Smash, Sora was the top choice. Not only did he announce Sora as the final DLC fighter who will be added to Smash Bros. Ultimate, but he also mentioned that various games in the KINGDOM HEARTS series will be coming to Nintendo Switch sometime in the future, via cloud streaming. KINGDOM HEARTS – HD 1.5 + 2.5 REMIX Cloud Version, KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue Cloud Version as well as KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind Cloud Version will all be available at a later date which has not yet been announced at this time.
In Nintendo’s press release for this DLC fighter announcement they quoted Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Communications who says, “Having a fan-favorite character like Sora join the ranks of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the perfect way to close out the Fighters Pass expansions. With a dozen fighters added since the game launched, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate now boasts 86 total fighters spanning the entire history of video games, giving players an unprecedented amount of gameplay choices and options.”
