Childs Play, the game industry charity which is dedicated to improving the lives of teens and children in hospitals around the world, has created 31 Pediatric Gaming and Technology Specialists at children’s hospitals around the world. This is an increase of the 18 positions established in 2020. The positions are intended to help introduce and maintain gaming tech for patients. They specialists will also help the doctors, nurses, and staff by showing them various ways to incorporate gaming tech into different therapies.

Child’s Play Creates More Than 30 Pediatric Gaming and Technology Specialist Positions at Children’s Hospitals Around the Globe
Child’s Play, the game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children and teens in children’s hospitals around the world, established by Penny Arcade and PAX cofounders Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins, announces that it has created 31 Pediatric Gaming and Technology Specialist positions at children’s hospitals around the globe through its 2021 grant program, an increase of the 18 positions established in 2020.
Funded through cash donations to Child’s Play, these specialists are responsible for introducing and maintaining gaming and technology products for patients in children’s hospitals. This includes the first position of its kind in Kenya at the Sally Test Child Life program in Eldoret, Kenya.
Additionally, they help doctors, nurses, and staff by showing how they can incorporate games and technology into their therapy, such as using virtual reality to help children during painful procedures.
The 501 (c)(3) charity has raised more than $50 million since its founding in 2003, and supports more than 190 hospitals around the world through its programs.
