This week we have four new featured titles to check out in the Nintendo Download, a new Smash fighter, and of course a bunch of new titles in the Nintendo eShop.

Featured Games

First up we have Capcom Arcade Stadium, which brings you dozen’s of classic Capcom arcade games to play on Nintendo Switch. Enjoy your favorite games from a bygone era with 3D rendered arcade machines, scanline filters, speed adjustment, and game rewind features. You get 1943 – The Battle of Midway free. To get more games, you’ll need to expand your library by purchasing various game packs or the stand-alone Ghost ‘n Goblins add-on.

Our second featured title this week is Persona 5 Strikers. A corruption is consuming cities throughout Japan, interrupting summer vacation as reality gets distorted. It’s up to you to join the Phantom Thieves as they fight back against the onslaught! You can nab the game on the Switch eShop starting on February 23rd.

Curse of the Dead Gods is a skill-based roguelike full of endless dark rooms and corridors. You’ve spent your whole life searching for untold riches, including eternal life and even divine powers. You’ll have to keep an eye out for traps as you fight through tons of enemies lurking in the cursed temple. Dare to defy the malevolent deities that reside here, but beware. Your own greed can and will lead you into the maw of death in this place. With each step you take, corruption grows inside you. Discover secrets, utilize an arsenal of weapons, and collect mystical relics when this game launches on February 23rd.

Finally, you can try out the Project TRIANGLE STRATEGY demo now. The tactical RPG will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch sometime next year. In the meantime, you can hop in the demo and take command in a tangled plot where your choices are important. There are three convictions, and each key decision can boost one of them. They are Utility, Morality, and Liberty. It should be noted that the title of this game is still tentative and subject to change.

DLC

In the DLC department for this Nintendo Download, we have a couple of upcoming ones in the near future. First up, we have a new two-in-one fighter preparing to join the ranks of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This one was another surprise that defied many predictions. Smash‘s newest fighter is two characters in one: Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Nintendo announced that the new DLC is coming in March, but did not announce a release date yet. We also don’t yet have a date for the character presentation from Smash director, Masahiro Sakurai, which is when the DLC’s launch date will probably drop.

Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct also announced a very close release date for the previously revealed Mario items that are coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons (as part of the Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary). The latest free DLC is arriving on February 25th, and adds a pile of new items to the game. These include a number of decorations like brick blocks, coins, flag poles, warp pipes, shells and more. You can place a pair of warp pipes and use them as a teleport on your island. There are also clothing items from hats to shoes, as well as some rugs, a new flooring option, and a wallpaper. Mario’s new Animal Crossing goodies will be available via Nook shopping (at the machine in Nook’s Cranny or your Nook phone).

Michael Fontanini
Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
