During a Niconico live broadcast, a new Yuki Yuna is a Hero (Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru) TV anime was announced to celebrate the series’ 5th anniversary. The new TV anime titled Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru: Dai Mankai no Shou was the sixth and final project announced to commemorate the franchise’s 5th anniversary.

Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru: Dai Mankai no Shou will be directed by Seiji Kishi at Studio Gokumi. BUNBUN provides the original character designs and Keiichi Okabe (MONACA) composes the music. Makoto Uezu provides the series script. Takahiro Sakai acts as animation character designer and chief animation director.
Yuki Yuna is a Hero first aired from October 2014 to December 2014 for a total of 12 episodes. The first season was followed by a two-part second season: Yuki Yuna is a Hero: Washio Sumi Chapter and Yuki Yuna is a Hero: Hero Chapter. Washio Sumi Chapter aired for 7 episodes from October 2017 to November 2017. Hero Chapter aired from November 2017 to January 2018 for 6 episodes. Both seasons were produced by Studio Gokumi.
