Good news, everyone! This week the Nintendo Download is running like it should, so you’ll be reading this earlier in the day than last week. There’s an interesting assortment of games this week, including two very peculiar featured titles, a bunch of great games on sale, and the usual digital fare. Let’s start with something old and something new.

Nintendo Download | Later Daters

I was the first person at the oprainfall site to champion the venerable Shovel Knight. It’s still one of my favorite and most successful crowdfunded games, and I honestly am smitten with the series. Having said that, I’m not sure why one of the featured titles today is Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope. Cause I thought it was already out on Switch, but perhaps it wasn’t as a standalone game? I know it’s there if you get the Treasure Trove. In any case, if you don’t want to buy all the Shovel Knight DLC but wanted to try the game that started it all, you owe it to yourself to pick up Shovel of Hope. The other featured game is even stranger. It’s called Later Daters, and it’s a dating sim game featuring grandparents. No, you didn’t temporarily go crazy(er). The game is actually an octogenarian love sim. So if you want sexy times as an old fart, then you have your niche game. Let’s continue the Nintendo Download with some great games on sale.
