Code Vein

Best Multiplatform

GOTY 2019 | Code Vein

NA Release Date: September 26th, 2019
Platform(s): PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One
Review

Our staff really loved Code Vein. Its fast paced combat and class switching on the fly made this a ton of fun. The game was filled with a wonderful story and interesting lore to keep you invested till the very end. The overall look of the game really made it stand out among all the other RPG offerings this year, so there is little wonder it made its way to our GOTY nominations.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Best Strategy, Best Story, Best Music, Best Exclusive

GOTY 2019 | Fire Emblem: Three Houses

NA Release Date: July 26th, 2019
Platform(s): Switch
Review

Fire Emblem: Three Houses got a ton of nominations this year from our staff. They loved the story, characters and music in the game. The combat was as good as it gets for the Fire Emblem series and three different story routes added a ton of replay value. Most of our staff are likely still playing through one of these routes right now, and that’s not to mention the recently released DLC! So it’s easy to see why this is one of our nominees for GOTY.

Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX

Best Indie

GOTY 2019 | Luminous Avenger iX

NA Release Date: September 26th, 2019
Platform(s): Switch
Review

The maker of Azur Striker Gunvolt released a new title set in that universe this past year. Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX gave fans more of the great platforming action they expect from the series with a set of new features as well. The soundtrack is top tier and the staff here just couldn’t get enough of this fantastic addition to the Gunvolt series.

And the winner is…..

Fire Emblem: Three Houses!

GOTY 2019 | Winner

Our staff always loves this series when new games are released, but Fire Emblem: Three Houses is really something special. I don’t think everyone has had this much fun with a release in the series since Awakening released back in in 2013. The great gameplay, epic music and host of memorable characters really make this game stand out from the pack of all the games released last year, and cinches its win as our GOTY.

As the site admin, he will continue to do this and even show there is value in what some would deem "pure ecchi." He loves niche games and anime more than anything... well, except maybe Neptune.
