A fourth house awaits beneath the Garreg Mach Monastery waiting for players to discover its secrets in Fire Emblem: Three Houses newly-announced DLC.

Nintendo released new details on the upcoming Three Houses Expansion Pass Wave Four DLC, the side story Cindered Shadows, coming out Feb. 12, 2020.

The new trailer lays out the details thus: “Back then, there were tons of rumors about what goes on below Garreg Mach. Something about tons of passages and houses beneath the town. All inhabited by super-shady people! They had a real intimidating name, too! I think it was called…Abyss?”

According to the trailer, the Abyss is home to the Ashen Wolves, the secret fourth house who have turned their backs on the surface world. It’s up to the player to help train these teacher-less students – and get everyone out alive.

Cindered Shadows follows three other DLC updates. Wave 1 introduced Officers Academy outfits for Byleth. Wave 2 added five additional Auxiliary Battles with new Auxiliary Battle background music; four valuable items with stat boosts: Movement speed +2, Max. HP +7, Str +3, Spd +3; and one new type of attire for most students. Wave 3 allowed players to recruit Anna through completing a special quest; added a new sauna and the ability to interact with animals; maid and butler battalions; a new types of attire for most students; and a pair of glasses for Byleth to wear. The full expansion pass is available for purchase now for $24.99 USD.
