As someone who has become a fan of Rose City Games recently, I’m intrigued by Garden Story. It’s being co-published by both Rose City and VIZ, and the game itself is developed by Picogram. Described as a mix of Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley and Zelda, Garden Story is an interesting game with some big potential. You play as Concord, a grape guardian determined to restore their Grove to glory. It’s been consumed by a mysterious Rot, and only you can fix it!
Garden Story is the debut title from Portland based Picogram, and it looks promising. If you like games where you set the pace and have lots of quirky activities to accomplish, then you’ll probably love this game. It has gardening, resource management, puzzle solving, dungeon crawling and more, all set to a beautiful backdrop. It’s also confirmed to have a playable demo shortly at PAX West and later at XOXO Arcade in Portland, and is slated to release soon, according to the Steam page. While it may not be my genre, even I’m intrigued by the aesthetic style of the game. The only downside I can see is that it’s currently only coming to PC, and I’m positive this would be a popular game on consoles, especially the Nintendo Switch. But if you like what you see and want to find out more, just check out the teaser trailer below!
