inXile Entertainment and Krome Studios are very happy to announce that The Bard’s Tale Trilogy and Wasteland remasters are coming to PC and Xbox One. They will launch on Steam, GOG, amd Xbox One according to the press release. The Bard’s Tale Trilogy will arrive on August 13th. The Wasteland 30th Anniversary Edition will arrive sometime in Q4 of this year.
The Bard’s Tale Trilogy will of course have all three of the original games, which are Tales of the Unknown, The Destiny Knight, and Thief of Fate. These games allowed players the option to take their party from one game to the next one. In short, players could take their party from the first game through the second and third games for more adventuring. This feature is still here in the trilogy remaster, along with enhanced graphics and sound. The remaster also includes options like auto-mapping and other quality of life features. There is also an in-game bestiary and manual, plus the ability to save whenever you want. Worry not, as there is also Legacy mode for purists if you want to play the old school way. Here’s the trailer:
Wasteland fans may be waiting for the spring 2020 launch of Wasteland 3, but the Wasteland 30th Anniversary Edition will arrive first (sometime in the fourth quarter of this year). This remaster allows players to return to the original post-apocalyptic RPG to experience the Desert Rangers’ origin story and the hardships therein. The American Southwest finds itself ravaged by nuclear disaster, and the Desert Rangers are all that stands between this land and total anarchy. Groups of raiders and mutants roaming about are not the only danger, though. Something darker is afoot at the same time, and players must recruit help in this barren place, but beware. You decisions have consequences, so you’d better make them wisely.
