Naoki Hamaguchi, previously project lead of the Final Fantasy VII Remake, is now co-director alongside Tetsuya Nomura. This was revealed via Square Enix’s recruitment page. Nomura has previously said to be more of a cross-sectional mercenary, as Hamaguchi and Tai Yasue were in divisions, with Tai Yasue involved with Kingdom Hearts III. Nomura has directed both titles, making the statement accurate. Considering Final Fantasy VII Remake already has shaky development, it is unknown if this is a sign of things to come.
Additional, 5th Business Division is now spearheading a new project. The division now renamed to Third Development Division, this project is aimed towards the new generation. It has already surpassed early development and is now currently under large-scale development. The project is currently seeking new developers that want to bring fun and enjoyment, as well as a surprise. Specifically, the requested positions are planners, designers, programmers, and a project manager. Hints of this new project has been underway since 2016.
