Bandai Namco have announced a new title for 3DS and Switch titled Neko Tomo (Cat Friend) in this week’s Weekly Famitsu. It will release in Japan in 2018 an is the sequel to Kuma Tomo, which was localised only for Europe under the name Teddy Together.

The setup for this game is that a talking cat arrives at your house and it learns words and talks with you after it moves in. As you teach it words, it will use those words to talk with you. Kuma Tomo will appear, likewise a collaboration with Taiko no Tatsujin.

Two characters have been detailed. The first is Neko whom dreams of becoming a YouTuber. The second, Tomomo, gives you advice about living.

A presentation formally revealing the title will be live streamed on YouTube and Twitter on 28th June at 12PM JST.
