Blacksea Odyssey

I’ve become a fan of rogue and twin-stick games, so whenever I hear those words used to describe something, my attention gets piqued. So when I saw there is a Lovecraft inspired twin-stick rogue like that features ripping the limbs off eldritch beasts with a harpoon, I was downright intrigued. That game is none other than Blacksea Odyssey.

While it’s technically already out on Steam, Blacksea Odyssey is moving to the PS4 in both North America and Europe this July. Better yet, courtesy of the folks at eastasiasoft, it’s getting a really sexy physical edition in Asia, featuring the usual extra goodies fans love to collect.

If you’re not familiar with the game, just scroll down for the press details, including a great looking Steam trailer. Blacksea Odyssey hits North America on July 10th, and Europe on July 11th.

Twinfinite awarded the PC version of Blacksea Odyssey 4 out of 5, calling it “a bizarre and wonderful game”, while IndieGames astutely pointed out: “You surf on a missile and use a harpoon to rip limbs off of giant space monsters… if that doesn’t pique your interest, then I don’t know what will.”

Blacksea Odyssey will also be released in Asia, via publishing partner Eastasiasoft Limited. The PS4 digital version will launch 12 July. A PS4 limited edition physical version will also be released in July (exact date TBC) and will be available at for US$34.99.
