For all the otome fans out there, Aksys Games would like to remind us all that the otome visual novel Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly is now available in the West today. Developed by Idea Factory, the title is available exclusively on the PS Vita. It is the second of four otome games releasing in the West this year from Aksys as well as the first in their self-proclaimed “Summer of Mystery” trio of releases, the other two being Psychedelica of the Ashen Hawk and 7’scarlet.

Here is a description of the game’s story, via Aksys Games:

In Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly, a girl wakes up in a mysterious mansion with no memory of how she got there. Adding to her confusion, she can no longer remember her name or past. Before she can come to grips with her predicament, she is attacked by a grotesque monster and is forced to run for her life. Follow the black butterflies as your choices unlock numerous story paths, a mansion full of fascinating characters, and a multitude of surprising endings. A mini game lets players unlock additional plot elements. Set in a highly unique, surreal atmosphere with contrasts of bright, psychedelic colors and dark, muted tones, Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly is an unforgettable adventure.

All launch edition copies of the three “Summer of Mystery” titles will include a set of collectable cards. If you live in the US, buy all three games and can show proof of purchase to Aksys, you have the opportunity to get one of 1000 sets of collectable pins from the Aksys Store.

Aksys Games details this further:

Customers who purchase either physical or digital copies of the designated titles may email their receipts to get an exclusive set of collector pins. Only 1,000 sets of the enamel collector pins will be made, and are available on a first come, first served basis to US residents only between April 27 and July 31, 2018, or until supplies run out. A small shipping and handling charge will be applied, and pins begin shipping on July 1, not before. The promotion applies only to newly-purchased copies of the games, not used, and a final purchase receipt must be submitted, not pre-order receipts.

Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly is now available for PS Vita.
