In celebration of Yooka-Laylee‘s first anniversary since its April 2017 release, developer Playtonic Games has posted a festive update hinting at the future of the platformer. In chief, Playtonic says they’ve been working on adding new content to the game in the last few months.

…we’ve been a bit quiet for a while. But we promise it’s because we’ve been far too busy working on covert goodness, and not because we’ve been down the pub for 4 months. Soon we’ll start talking more actively, both about extra content for Yooka-Laylee, plus… other stuff. Shhh!

In addition to new game content, Playtonic will be giving away up to five Yooka-Laylee posters signed by the entire dev team. The official Playtonic Twitter has more details for those interested in a rare poster originally given exclusively to the game’s staff members.

Yooka-Laylee was released on April 11th, 2017 across PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It recently saw a digital release on Nintendo Switch. While the aforementioned consoles later saw a physical release through Team17. A Switch release for retail has not been announced, but it may yet be in the cards for Playtonic’s “other stuff” in the months to come.
