PHOTON³ (Photon Cube) is a new and popular puzzle game that has already released in Japan on both the Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation Vita gaming consoles. The gameplay revolves around a core mechanic that has you manipulating colorful beams of light to solve the puzzle. The developers say the game has cute characters plus a very user-friendly interface to attract and entertain new players of any age. They also say there is a high degree of difficulty waiting for those who are looking for a stiff challenge.
On the Kickstarter page, SmileAxe Co., Ltd. acknowledges an increasing demand for localization of the game. They want to make this happen for the fans who’ve been requesting it, so they’ve started a Kickstarter campaign to get the project off the ground. Their goal is to fund the localization and launch the game by March 2018. So far, the project has accumulated $1,157 in pledges with a funding goal of $13,288. The deadline is January 29th, 2018. It’s an all or nothing campaign, meaning that if it does not reach the funding goal by that deadline, the project will not be funded at all. If they successfully fund the project, they are also planning to subsequently release the game on Steam after the localization is done. Here is the game trailer for you to check out:
SmileAxe also notes that if the Kickstarter campaign is successful, there is always the possibility of a delay with the translation work. They also ask for patience in getting out the backer rewards if the campaign is a success, since this would their first time shipping internationally. You can find out a lot more about the game and this localization project at the PHOTON³ Kickstarter page. There is also a PHOTON³ official website, though it’s in Japanese only.
