Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings

Koei Tecmo America has announced the western release of Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings, the conclusion to the series. The press release says the title is set to come to PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 sometime in early 2018. It also happens to be the Atelier franchise’ 20th anniversary.

Koei Tecmo have also released some screenshots and a new trailer to celebrate the reveal of Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings. The new trailer provides a sneak peak at some of the beautiful environments and introduces the protagonists who will of course explore them. Watch it right here for your first taste of the new title’s heart-warming narrative:

Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings follows a pair of alchemist twins (Lydie Marlen and Suelle Marlen). Suelle is carefree and eccentric, while lydie is the more caring and reserved one. The twins work at their family’s atelier alongside their father, but their lack of experience with alchemy means they don’t get too many customers. They do their best to build their alchmeny skills, when they make an unexpected discovery. The pair discovers a mysterious painting so naturally they try to investigate it. As they reach for the painting, they are pulled into a strange new world. It is rich in rare materials that can be used for alchemy.

This, however, is only the start of the alchemist twins’ adventure. Their shared goal is to one day run the best atelier in the whole country.

This latest entry in the series is preceded by Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, and Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious JourneyAtelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings has not yet been rated by the ESRB, but you can check out the new screenshots below:

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
