So I may have gotten my weeks mixed up last time. I thought this week was PAX West, and wasn’t planning on doing the regularly scheduled Nintendo Download. However, since PAX is next week, let’s enjoy some Nintendo goodness together, shall we? It’s a more interesting week than last, just because the Game Guide is functioning and there is also a Capcom publisher sale happening, as well as new releases. Let’s start out with something goofy.
I never honestly thought Rabbids and Mario would occupy the same universe, but starting next week, it’s happening. Yes, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is real, and not a drug fueled fantasy. Join creepy Rabbid versions of your favorite Mushroom Kingdom warriors, as well as Mario and company, and fight this world gone totally wrong. While it’s an unexpected and strange premise, I am hoping it turns out to be a fun game. While the Switch isn’t lacking for fun games, I always appreciate one more title in my library.
If you enjoy Capcom, now is the time to take advantage of the sales of some great games. From today until September 4th (coincidentally the last day of PAX West) you can get up to 80% off a pretty sizable roster of games. So if you don’t already own these, I would check them out. The games on sale are the following – DuckTales: Remastered, Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara, Mega Man Legacy Collection, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, Resident Evil Revelations and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition. To see how crazy inexpensive these are, just click here.
Are you still sales starved from last week? Let me make that up to you with even more savings! The following titles in the Game Guide are worth checking out while discounted. If you haven’t gotten enough Monster Hunter on the previous sale, Monster Hunter Generations (3DS) is pretty cheap at $19.99; Unlucky Mage (3DS) looks like a simple yet fun mobile port for $5.99; Poncho (Wii U) is a visually fascinating platformer for only $6.95; lastly, if you feel the need to let it rip, Beyblade Evolution (3DS) is only $9.95. To see the rest of the offered titles, check them out here.
Last but not least, there are a few new digital games you might want to try this week. Two of them are for the puzzle inclined, but all of these are for the Switch. If you want a puzzle game, there is ACA NEOGEO Puzzled, which looks like a crazy Tetris clone. There is also Piczle Lines DX, which has you solve puzzles to reveal hidden images. Finally, if you like Metroidvanias and robots, you’ll probably be interested in picking up forma.8 on your Switch. While it’s true it was released on Wii U, the benefit to playing it on the go can’t be overstated.
Not a bad week! Just a reminder, next week there will be no Download, but I will return after PAX with more Nintendo Download goodies! Assuming I don’t contract the PAX pox, that is…
