Editors Note (Steve):

There was a bit of question as to if this release would be getting a Director’s Cut as promised during the campaign. Since one of the mods said the staff may not do one since there was so little content removed this time. The team has since updated this response to say the patch would happen at some point, but not until after the Vita versions were ready to go at the very earliest.

Muv-Luv Alternative

The time is almost here. After a successful Kickstarter two years ago, Degica is finally bringing Muv-Luv Alternative to Steam on September 18th. However, for those lucky enough to back the Kickstarter campaign, you should be getting your Steam code for the backer-exclusive beta now! If you haven’t gotten a link to it in your email, you can enter the email address you used for the Kickstarter here.

Degica describes Muv-Luv Alternative:

“This is it. The chips are down, the die’s been cast, and the fate of the multiverse is on the line. Step back into the cockpit and prepare for deployment in Muv-Luv Alternative. Just be sure to keep a box of tissues handy, because it’s about to be a bumpy ride.

Muv-Luv Alternative is an epic tale of political conspiracies, international espionage, alien menace, quantum causality, bittersweet reunions, genetic modification, and much, much more. Gluttons for punishment, rejoice, because once it gets rolling, there are no brakes on this pain train.

Three years have passed since the day Takeru, an unsuspecting Japanese high-schooler, suddenly awoke in a world not his own — a war-torn alternate reality in which mankind was on the brink of extinction. As the tale comes to its despairing close, once again he awakes in his childhood bedroom. Not in his own world, but back where he was first spat out into this hellscape three years prior. Can Takeru use his knowledge to change Fate?”

Muv-Luv Alternative  releases next month for $39.99. The game supports text in English, Japanese, and Chinese. The game also has an improved interface to support tablets and touch screens. Cloud saving is also supported.

Now that the bulk of the Kickstarter is almost finished, the team plans on focusing on the PlayStation Vita port of the Muv-Luv trilogy.
