Frontwing has made two major announcements at their AX 2017 panel. The first one title is called  “Wonderful Everyday” this is the English localization of developer KeroQ’s title “Subarashiki Hibi ~Furenzoku Sonzai~”

Here is a a lot more information about this title straight from the press release:

“Wonderful Everyday” is an adult-oriented visual novel, produced and written by SCA-DI, which features dark themes and heavy philosophical explorations. The story follows the lives of Yuki Minakami, Zakuro Takashima, Takuji Mamiya, and others, during the weeks leading up to a significant event in all of their lives. The English release of “Wonderful Everyday” is hotly anticipated, and the original Japanese “Subarashiki Hibi” consistently ranks among the top titles on visual novel databases and ranking sites.

The first chapter of “Wonderful Everyday”, “Down The Rabbit-Hole”, is planned to be released on Steam in late August at a price point of $29.99 USD. The remaining content of the game will be available at no cost in the form of a free adult content patch, which expands the Steam release to the full version of the game. The resolution of the game has been increased from its original release; additionally, the game will feature no mosaic censorship, and assets have been redrawn to accommodate this change.

Physical copies of the full version of the game, along with other goods, will be made available through a Kickstarter campaign planned to be launched by Frontwing on July 10. The campaign will feature a wide variety of original merchandise, as well as numerous tiers containing exclusive items signed or drawn by the original Japanese artists and developers. A Prefundia page for the campaign has launched, and can be accessed from the following URL: http://prefundia.com/projects/view/a-wonderful-release-for-wonderfuleveryday/13415/

Note that Frontwing has removed one CG and around 19 lines of text out of the 400 line total from one set of scenes involving bestiality.  I will link to the removed CG, but note IT IS VERY NSFW AND DOES CONTAIN BESTIALITY YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Click here to view it.

Next up we have Momoiro Closet, this is an erotic first party title being aimed at those that love Otaku culture.  You can check out the full press release below for more information.

“Momoiro Closet” is planned to be an adult-oriented erotic visual novel mainly aimed at “otaku”, and general fans of contemporary Japanese popular culture. The protagonist of the game, Kagamihara Alice, is both her school’s student council president, as well as a member of the National Diet. However, she has a well-hidden secret – she’s actually a hardcore otaku! After a chance encounter with Hashima Reiji at a shop in Akihabara, the two begin to grow close, sharing both their hobbies, and eventually their fetishes with one another.

“Momoiro Closet” is a lighthearted romance title with a charming cast of characters, plenty of humor, and numerous scenes both risqué and outright explicit throughout the game. The title also features a fictional TV anime series, “Frill & Lace”, created as an homage to recent popular “magical girl” anime series. “Momoiro Closet” is planned to contain multiple routes, both English and Japanese text display, and Japanese voice acting. The title will feature artwork from INO and a story from Yuhi Nanao, and the localization is being handled by Frontwing’s in-house localization team. The release format is not yet decided, but a full adult version of the game is expected to be made available worldwide both digitally and physically by Q1 2018. Further details will be forthcoming as the project moves into later stages of developments.

About Steve Baltimore

Steve started with oprainfall not long after the campaign moved from the IGN forums to Facebook. Ever since, he has been fighting to give all non-mainstream RPGs a fair voice. As the site admin, he will continue to do this and even show there is value in what some would deem "pure ecchi." He loves niche games and anime more than anything... well, except maybe Neptune.

My autism demands that I read it after the dog scenes are added back in, but I understand Frontwing taking it out. I assume Steam’s limit for 18+ patches is bestiality. When some third party translates those, I’ll be happy to buy the game.

    • Steve Baltimore

Yea I kinda understand why they had to do that, but I just hope this doesn’t lead to JAST style edits down the line. Usually once this door is open it tends to get worse and worse as time goes on.

    • Nin

All we can do is to call them out if it’s apparent that they are slipping down the slippery slope.

    • Miqubi

Yup, tbh the cg seems “tame” but the subject itself is a huge issue, denpasoft/sp had troubles with payment processors and nekopara, and nekopara doesn’t even have actual cats.

    • DOUGHNUTS ARE AMAZING

Plus most VN folks will just patch the game anyway with this missing content. As both controversial and illegal as beastiality is, hardcore VN folks do not care and will want that content (which is not autism-related, rather a preference) and if it cannot be offered officially fans will make it available themselves. Removing the beastiality scene probably made the difference between being able/unable to release Subahibi outside of Japan.

    • Miqubi

Personally I find it quite amazing that we’ve gone from “no porn on Steam” to drawing the line at bestiality only, shows how much the boundaries have been pushed (even if technically a patch is considered a mod).
Even more amazing if you consider the actual starting point was “no VN on steam because they aren’t games”.

    • Steve Baltimore

There’s still no porn on Steam here, your getting heavily edit first chapter and free patch.

My guess is the scene was changed due to legal concerns over the Kickstarter they are gonna run for this.

Though I do agree things are getting better, I mean on one would’ve touched something like Imouto Paradise, Maitetsu, Euphoria, or Maggot Baits a few years back

    • Miqubi

I was talking more in a general sense there 😛 and technically there’ll never be porn since it’s all in the patches and according to valve they’re mods.

    • paireon

Seems like discussion about the subject also evolved – not so long ago I seem to remember that any edit whatsoever to a game brought out hordes of frothing-at-the-mouth haters.

Still prefer fully uncensored myself of course, but throwing fits on the subject doesn’t help.

    • DOUGHNUTS ARE AMAZING

Pretty much. Sometimes changes have to be made though publishers should try to avoid making unnessecary edits as much as possible. Atlus handled the censorship of their most recent Aquaplus localisations well – just the bare miminum needed to get the game rated M to allow them on consoles.

    • Chili

      Illegal?
Hentai anime containing such content has been released and sold in the US officially with such content uncut. See the anime “Family of Debauchery”. I don’t think such content is illegal.

    • DOUGHNUTS ARE AMAZING

That is only the US, outside of the US there are potential issues with hentai in many countries including the UK, Canada and Sweden. Other countrues like Norway have no issues, but it depends on where you live and what laws are in place.

A lot of folks, especially Americans whom don’t have to worry about that, forget this. It’s why 18+ only physical releases (where there is an AA version offered on Steam) screw over international buyers and AA folks alike as importing them is a huge risk. Heck, even shipping games within the US is a risk sometimes, with things like bestiality only legal in a small number of states.
