Little Busters group shot

VisualArt’s seems to have released the opening for Little Busters! English Edition, the English translation of the Key visual novel.

You can watch the video below:

The opening is generally the same as the regular Perfect Edition opening, but with the text introducing the main characters and voice actors in English instead of Japanese. The video is also widescreen and upscaled to 720p.

Little Busters! English Edition is an English translation of Perfect Edition, which is a version of Ecstasy without the 18+ content. It retains the additional routes for Sasami Sasasegawa, Kanata Futaki and the entirely new character Saya Tokido from Ecstasy.

No additional announcements accompanied the video. It may be worth noting that VisualArt’s shared the video on Twitter with the hashtag #aprilfool, implying that the video may not be the real opening, but VisualArt’s has a history of making announcements on April Fool’s Day, such as the Planetarian anime in 2016 and the original Rewrite visual novel in 2008. This may be part of VisualArt’s promise to give us more information on the English release of Little Busters!

Little Busters! is a game that I have a lot of fondness for, and you can see our review of the original version here.

That hashtag aside, I’m sure it’s legit. I mean, where would be the joke? That the opening isn’t translated after all? That wouldn’t even make sense, especially since that would mean they went through all the effort to make something perfectly usable, only for a lame joke.

I think it’s the character descriptions that are the joke. Those titles are from the battle mini game I’m pretty cure lol

    • Miguel Angel Opazo Arancibia

Seems like they are reusing the existing translation, i remember pretty clearly the titles. There were several unstranslated that i wanted to undertand back then, like Saigusa F1 ones.

    • Steve Baltimore

Pretty sure the same folks that did the fan translation are still working on it now.

    This needs a physical release.
