The first gameplay and details for Project Sonic 2017, now titled Sonic Forces, has been revealed. At South X Southwest 2017 Sega debuted gameplay for the upcoming 3D title, which is taking inspiration from both Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations. There will both 3D and 2D levels, along with a new element that was not revealed. Wisp power-ups return from Sonic Colors and Sonic Lost World, and Sonic will have an improved boost ability, along with the return of the homing attack. While not much was shown off at the event, the level teased did look similar to the 3D sections of Generations. Check out the off-screen gameplay below.
Sonic Forces will be out sometime in 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
