It is a heady time to be a Nintendo fan. The Switch has proven to be a success on many fronts, thanks in no small part to Breath of the Wild. That said, there is still a lot of great stuff headed our way, and today’s Nintendo Download shows off some of it quite nicely. And yes, there are still some announcements for Wii U and 3DS owners, in case you were fretting.
First, and most exciting to me personally, today The Binding of Issac: Afterbirth+ releases for the Switch. This is a very nice package, including the base game and all current DLC, giving fans the full Isaac experience. Better yet, there are limited physical copies with all sorts of goodies packed in, though I believe most of those have already been snagged by preorders. Still, if you have ever been curious about why this series is so well regarded, you own it to yourself to give it a look. Switch also has some other ports to mention, though none quite so exciting. Human Resource Machine, Little Inferno and World of Goo all come to the Switch today, and are there for your puzzle solving itch. And just to remind you Wii U isn’t technically dead yet, Picross 3D hits the Virtual Console today, for all you cube lovers.
On the sales front of things, it’s a good day to like hunting beasts, as Monster Hunter is having a franchise sale, with titles up to 66% off. The included games are the following – Monster Hunter Generations, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. That’s a lot of great sales, so if you like running around with friends slaying beasts, you should check this sale out.
Lastly this week, there are a handful of newly released games to check out. Unlike last week, there is only one other new eShop game for Switch, which is ACA NEOGEO THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’94. This arcade classic features fighters from King of Fighters, Ikari Warriors and Fatal Fury. If you never played a fighting game in a arcade, you should really give this a shot. Also, not to be forgotten, there is a demo for a new game for the 3DS. Fairune 2 is finally getting ready to make its way to the system, and you can play the demo to decide if it’s for you. Finally, a game called ACE – Alien Cleanup Elite is trying to bring retro adventure to the Wii U, and it looks pretty fun.
I realize this is a much shorter Nintendo Download than last time, but sometimes that’s how things happen. Still, it’s a good time to be a Switch owner, and it’s gonna keep on getting better, with the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire just around the corner. Make sure to stay tuned to oprainfall for more Nintendo news as it hits!
