Cardcaptor Sakura | CLAMP Original Design

Good Smile Company has opened up pre-orders for a new figure from the Cardcaptor Sakura series. The figure is a collaboration between Good Smile Company and CLAMP and features the main protagonist, Sakura Kinomoto.

Cardcaptor Sakura | Stars Bless You Figure

The figure was made to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Cardcaptor Sakura series and the 15th anniversary of Good Smile Company. The figure’s design is based off of an original illustration by CLAMP.

Good Smile Company describes the figure as follows:

A collaboration project between Good Smile Company as a part of our 15th anniversary and ‘Cardcaptor Sakura’, which has not only reached its 20th anniversary but also started an all new ‘Clear Card Arc’ in the July edition of Nakayoshi magazine! The figure is based on an original illustration drawn by Cardcaptor Sakura’s author, CLAMP!

Sakura-chan’s sweet smile has been captured for fans to enjoy by their side, and the details of her hair as well as the frills on her skirt have been intricately sculpted to ensure everything about the original design has been kept intact. A special base has also been included to truly bring the illustration to life – it features various celestial bodies floating around Sakura as well as a circular frame based on the waxing and waning of the moon. Be sure to add Sakura to your collection with this intricate commemorative item!

Sakura looks absolutely adorable and the sculptor did an amazing job recreating CLAMP’s original design. She is a 1/7 scale figure, stands about 45 cm high and is sculpted by Takayuki Kawahara. If you don’t believe me, you can check out some pictures below. She looks stunning and clearly a lot of care went into her design from her special base all the way to the frills on her skirt.

I absolutely love all the attention Cardcaptor Sakura has been getting lately. It is getting a new manga series, getting a new anime and now this special figure. It’s a dream come true for any fan of the series.

Horrible isen’t it!? seeing all this kinda stuff go by while wanting to buy it. Also with wonFes this weekend my wallet is gonna get a heart attack right now cause i’m seeing a lot i want and right now i’m buying a lot of old and classic figures from Koto but seems they releasing them like there is no tomorrow, I do have to say glad they do re-releases cause i used to go after the erotic ones but kinda wanna go more old school but then once in a while go for something like this.

I take it you mean the ones from PLUM? I kinda thought they looked generic and i always felt a figure looks best when the pose feels more dynamic, Also Dakimakura means your more hardcore then i am cause i refuse to go down that road but don’t judge ppl who do.

    • Yeah, the PLUM ones (just checked AmiAmi).

The dakimakura was a naked(ish – she had pantyhose on~) Kaede from CINDERELLA GIRLS one. She looked irresistable.
