Arcade Archives Formation Armed F – PS4 Digital (Out 5/27)

This is an interesting, but not very well known, shooter from days of arcade past. Think of it as R-Type only top down instead of horizontal. That similarity is not only in the enemy designs, but also you have some control of your pods to move them around to different formations.

Crazy Strike Bowling EX – PS4 Digital (Out 5/25)

I would normally not feature a sports game… but when you add anime girls it becomes very hard to resist. This is an HD update to the PS3 game, hence the EX in the title. And you can play as cute anime characters on bowling lanes in very strange terrains.

Downwell – PS4, PS Vita Digital

This interesting old school styled indie game takes some of the constant runner mechanics and turns them into constant falling. But to that they add some space shooter mechanics and purchasable upgrades. Some members of the games press have said really good things about this one.

The Last Blade 2 – PS4, PS Vita Digital

This is a classic SNK game that has seen little light in the US, so I was really happy to see it. You have multiple fighting forms available similar to the -ism’s in CvS 2 and one of my favorite characters in that title is originally from this game. So if you are looking for a solid classic fighting game, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Overwatch – PS4 Digital, Retail

Blizzard releases are rare, but they are huge events. And this one is no different. They have bottled the zeitgeist once again, and I doubt you need me to tell you much more about it. But just in case you only frequent niche gaming sites, this is basically Team Fortress 2 with more classes and flashier and more interesting abilities.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan – PS4, PS3 Digital, Retail

Platinum’s latest game releases this week. And once again they return back to the world of 80’s cartoons. Other than a stint into Avatar territory, Platinum has remained very adored among critics and the gaming audience. And from what I have seen and heard, people seem to like this one even more than the Transformers release.
