Kadokawa announced in their Gundam Ace magazine that they will be launching a spin-off manga of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin.
The new manga will be titled Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin MSD: Cucuruz Doan no Shima and will tell the story of Cucuruz Doan, a character introduced in the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime series. However, the episode that Cucuruz appears is not in the English version of the anime. Additionally, this will be a re-imagining for the original Mobile Suit Gundam series.
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin MSD: Cucuruz Doan no Shima will be drawn by Junji Ōno and will release in Gundam Ace’s July issue on May 26.
