Are you a fan of Studio Ghibli? How about Yoshitaka Amano? Then these announcements from VIZ Media will definitely pique your interest. At C2E2 in Chicago, VIZ Media held an industry panel in which they revealed new publishing acquisitions and even previewed some of these books. Among those announced were two very special art books.
The first art book revealed was an art book by famous illustrator Yoshitaka Amano. The book is titled YOSHITAKA AMANO: ILLUSTRATIONS. This book is set to release in the Summer of 2016. It will feature a selection of works from Yoshitaka Amano.
The second art book is from Studio Ghibli. This art book is titled THE ART OF CASTLE IN THE SKY and will be the final book in the Studio Ghibli feature film collection. It follows the development of Castle in the Sky from its early conception to its final cut. It will be released in Fall 2016 and will coincide with the 30th anniversary of the film’s original release. Castle in the Sky was the first feature film produced by Studio Ghibli and was directed by the legendary Hayao Miyazaki.
