The sci-fi anime OVA Fight! Iczer-One was released in 1985. The anime is based of the yuri manga of the same name where a Japanese school girl is chosen to fight an alien invasion.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary, Fight! Iczer-One was rebroadcast to TV, but was cheaply censored leaving most fans to question why they aired it to begin with.
Japan has a tendency to censor anime with steam, shadows, or even chibi faces, but the work done on Fight! Iczer-One can only be seen as lazy. Many scenes have been blacked out with bars covering almost the whole screen.
What do you think, should they have just not aired the OVA at all? Let us know in the comments below!
