    I disagree with Mr Baltimore that you need to play Burst to understand Shinovi Versus. It does a pretty good job explaining the backstory of the existing schools and gives a good introduction to the newcomers.

    I did however enjoyed Neptunia U and thought that it was the best spin off of the series. It was lighthearted fun and I really enjoyed the combat. It became quite grindy during the end game.

      It does explain it, but it’s a bit different than the actual canon story.

      My point is that it is self contained. It is a weird decision though. The entire Shinovi Versus game is a What-If scenario. Perhaps things will be brought back to canon in Estival.
