Atlus have announced via a press release more details about the PS4-exclusive Storybook Edition of Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir, the enhanced port of Vanillaware’s PS2 title Odin Sphere for high-definition PlayStation platforms.
Shown off by Atlus is the back of the metal slipcase included in the Storybook Edition. The picture is of Valkyrie Gwendolyn, one of the playable heroines in the game. This follows the reveal of the art print design last week, which was an image of Alice and Socrates.
Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir is a 2D action RPG slated to release for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita in North American territories on June 7th, with all preorders and first prints for all platforms coming with a 64-page artbook. A European release date is currently slated for the vague Q2 2016.

Not to sound like a broken record… but do you remember when we first announced the “Storybook Edition” and mentioned there was a not-yet-revealed image on the back of the special metal slipcase? SURPRISE! In case you opened this email, closed your eyes, scrolled down to this exact spot, and then opened your eyes again, the back of the metal slipcase will feature the valiant Valkyrie Gwendolyn! Sorry. We know you’re still recovering from the extreme thrill of seeing the Alice and Socrates art print, but just couldn’t wait any longer.
Valkyrie is the title given to all female soldiers who serve Odin in the Ragnanival army. Although there are many fierce beasts and strong warriors in Erion, none have more honor and loyalty than the winged Valkyries. The elegant Gwendolyn is not only a powerful Valkyrie, but also the princess of Ragnanival and the youngest daughter of Demon Lord Odin. She is brave, strong, and not afraid of death on the battlefield. Seriously, she’s probably the most qualified legendary warrior to be watching your game’s back. Gwendolyn won’t be alone either! She’ll have that mysterious blue bird to keep her company during her watch.
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is the all-encompassing HD remake of the original PlayStation 2 ‘Greatest Hits’ title, Odin Sphere. Developed by the legendary Vanillaware and published by ATLUS, the game is steeped in Norse mythology with intricate plots that wouldn’t be out of place in a Wagner opera. Five character plots intertwine as the world of Erion hurtles towards the end of days as warring kingdoms clash for control.
