Square Enix has revealed that Final Fantasy VI will be releasing on PC via Steam on December 16, 2015. It will be joining Final Fantasy III, IV, V, VII, VIII, XIV and the Lightning trilogy on the service.
Along with the announcement, Square Enix had this to say about the legendary JRPG:

The Steam version of the game appears to be most similar to, if not the same as, the version released on iOS and Android in 2014, in terms of both the visual style and the interface.
