Donkey Kong | Retro Wrap-Up

Everyone’s aware of good old Donkey Kong‘s origins in the arcades back in the early ’80s. And even if you’re aware of just how many games he’s been a part of, it’s still a staggering to number to think of. Between his own arcade adventures, platforming escapades with Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land, or his cameo appearances in Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros. and Mario Party games, DK has become a secondary mascot for Nintendo.

So, as per usual, the oprainfall Retro Commercial Research Team–in other words, me–has scavenged around the depths of YouTube to bring some of the best commercials from Donkey Kong’s many games. Let us know what your favorites are in the comments.

Here are the highlights from the past week.

Don’t forget to check out our YouTube channel, and as always, if you have any ideas or suggestions for retro commercials, let us know by either Facebook, Twitter, or just leave a good old-fashioned comment below.
