NISAmerica confirmed announced the forthcoming release of Stranger of Sword City in North America and Europe, both on their Youtube channel and with the launch of a teaser site. The publisher was scarce on details beyond giving us a semi-localized trailer, using footage from the Japanese version of the game to help generate some early hype. Stranger of Sword City was originally released in Japan on Xbox 360 on June 5, 2014 and then on Windows on August 22 of the same year. The PS Vita received an enhanced version on January 15, 2015 and this coming March, North America and Europe will get to play it on Sony’s handheld platform as well. Developed by Experience Inc., Stranger of Sword City is a dungeon crawler similar to Etrian Odyssey, Unchained Blades, Wizardry, Dungeon Travelers 2 and the developer’s own previous effort Demon Gaze. The game features a range of classes to choose from, customization options for each character, turn based combat and resource gathering. Great news for fans of this admittedly hardcore niche genre of RPG. I know I’ll be picking up a copy this March.
