BURNING LOVE!

Some great news was announced for fans of the Kantai Collection PC browser game at last week’s TGS 2015. DMM.com POWERCHORD STUDIO announced that KanColle would be receiving an Android port, so Admirals can now take care of their kanmusu (ship girls) at home and on the go. Admirals also do not have to worry about starting over if they use the Android app as the Android app and the original web browser game will share the same account. So if you already have an account for the web browser version, you won’t have to worry about having to start all over if you play on the Android app as they will use the same account.

This is great news for fans and players of KanColle because trying to play the web browser version of the game on mobile devices was originally prohibited by DMM.com. Attempting to play the game on your mobile device could result in a player being banned from the game. Now that an Android app is being released, Admirals will not have to worry about being banned and can play the game whenever they want. This app will definitely make caring for your kanmusu easier and more efficient.

Kantai Collection Kongou and Fubuki
Fubuki is crying tears of joy after hearing the news.

It is currently unknown whether or not iOS users will receive a port like Android users. It is also unknown if the app will be region blocked like the web browser version of the game. It is possible to play the KanColle browser game if you live outside Japan however some work is needed to work around the region block. If there is a region block for the Android app it is highly likely that you will need to put some work to get the app on your Android device as well.

Kantai Collection was directed by Kensuke Tanaka and it was released as a web browser game on April 23, 2013. Since its release the franchise has gained widespread popularity and numerous forms of media including multiple manga, light novels, a tabletop RPG, and more recently a 2015 TV Anime adaptation.  KanColle will also receive a PS Vita game port in November 2015. The KanColle Android app will release in Winter 2016.
