Sony has released some new information regarding the recently announced Gravity Rush 2. Through the Japanese official website (Translated by Gematsu), we learn a thing or two about the story.
After the destruction caused by the events of the last game, the city of Hekseville is slowly recovering when a strange gravity wave disturbance is detected. Kat, the protagonist of the first game, goes to investigate along with her ex-rival Raven, and Syd, a cop who helped out Kat in the first game. In their investigation, the three gets sucked into an alternate dimension and into Banga Village, a rather pleasant looking town based off the screens. While the three try to figure out how to get back, the town is attacked by the same monsters that gave Kat so much trouble before. Hijinks ensues.
Both Kat and Raven lose access to their gravitational powers in this dimension, although it looks like they’ll get it back somehow if the initial trailer is anything to go by. It also looks like Kat gets herself some new sets of powers, possibly from the new dimension she’s in.
Gravity Rush 2 is set for a 2016 release for the PlayStation 4. No localization plans, if any, has been announced yet. The original Gravity Rush is also set for rerelease for the PS4 as Gravity Rush Remaster on February 9th, 2016 in North America.
