The newest entry in Toei’s Kamen Rider television franchise has officially been announced as Kamen Rider Ghost. Ghost will be the 26th Kamen Rider overall and the 17th during the Heisei period.

This masked rider will channel the spirits of famous historical figures to beat up the bad guys. Isaac Newton (the father of the laws of motion and gravity), Thomas Edison (the creator of the phonograph and lightbulb), and Miyamoto Musashi (an expert, undefeated Japanese swordsman) are a few of the historical figures.

Kamen Rider Ghost will join Shuriken Sentai Ninninger in the Super Hero Time line-up one week after the finale of Kamen Rider Drive.

Satoshi Morota (Hibiki, W to Gaim) is named as the series director and screenplays are to be written by Takuro Fukuda.

I am not ready for Kamen Rider Drive to end, but the announcement of Kamen Rider Ghost and his gimmick make me excited for a new beginning.
