Galaxy Trail and Stevie DiDuro confirmed over Twitter Freedom Planet will be heading soon to the Wii U eShop. Freedom Planet is a 2D platformer which has players taking control of Lilac and her friends as they traverse across the planet. The game took inspiration from the iconic Sonic the Hedgehog. Unlike Sonic, Freedom Planet puts its own twists on the formula. The game was released on Steam last year. Earlier in the day, there was a leaked listing for Freedom Planet’s release this upcoming week on Nintendo’s website. Eventually, Stevie posted the following tweet to clear things up regarding the game’s release:
Freedom Planet’s Wii U release is being delayed until after RTX due to underestimating development time. More details coming soon.

RTX runs from August 7th to August 9th in Austin, Texas. With that in mind, we officially know the game will be releasing sometime after August 9th. Unfortunately, we do not have a specific date in mind, but we will be watching closely for any new information from Galaxy Trail. Hopefully, we will see the game sooner rather than later.
