The biggest gaming conference in North America is just about one month away with events happening from Sunday June 14th through Thursday June 18th. So far, only third party publishers have confirmed times — although Microsoft has confirmed that they will have a conference on Monday June 15th. Nintendo, which has been a traditional mainstay on the Tuesday of E3, has eschewed a traditional press conference for a digital presentation for the past two years. Plus, they included extended looks at games with the Nintendo Treehouse as well as a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament last year.
What will they do this year? According to the NOA Twitter, we’ll find out tomorrow at Noon EDT/9AM PDT.

A few things to take from that picture. One, a Smash tournament will probably happen again — and this time, assuming that the person in the image is COO Reggie Fils-Aime, he’ll be ready to take on the champion after passing on playing last year’s winner. Two, we may be getting the same style of coverage last year with the initial presentation followed by hours upon hours with the Treehouse on Twitch. Three, could this mean that a new Punch-Out!! game is on the horizon? It’s possible with the reboot of Punch-Out!! doing well enough to warrant a re-release as a Nintendo Selects title on Wii (which also featured Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess) as well as Little Mac being a fighter in Smash.
Whatever is planned for this year, we’ll be sure to let you know.
