APRIL FOOLS!

Nintendo of America has confirmed that Xenoblade Chronicles X has been delayed. No release date has been given. There has however been a release date confirmed for Europe in August of this year, similar to the situation of Xenoblade Chronicles coming out in Europe 4 years ago. It was confirmed that Xenoblade Chronicles X will not be at this years E3 event and instead will replace the segment with Iwata pointing out the slightly inclining sales chart of the Wii U. It was a major concern considering the last time a Xenoblade game had a “TBA” release date for North America, the creation of oprainfall was inspired. It’d be a shame to go through this again.

An official quote from Reggie in response to the backlash of this event says “thanks for being such great and passionate fans”, posted on Nintendo’s Facebook and Twitter. We contacted Reggie about the reasoning for this decision.

“We at Nintendo of America have to release our titles in the right markets at the right times, based off of consumer demand.” said Reggie. “We feel that there are many great titles coming to you this holiday such as the newly revealed Wii Play U and Wii Music U. We feel that the gap will be filled to compete against our competitors with the likes of Rock Band 4 on the horizon. We also would like to point out to you that Xenoblade Chronicles has a 91 Metacritic and we are the only publisher to achieve a green average on Metacritic for 2014. Our greatness is the reasoning for our ability to decide what is good for the consumer and how consumers speak with their wallets.”

Reggie would then go on to explain about the attachment rate of the 3DS but by the time he got to something about the success of how well Pokemon X and Y sold, we were nodding off and didn’t get everything that was said. We almost fell into slumber wondering why he was giving well-thought out states but only indirectly answering our question.

When asked about how the marketing of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is going, Reggie lifted up his arms and shrugged. He claimed that Iwata never gave him any promotional materials to work with from Japan and only told him over the phone to “Please understand.”

Lois Polite
Lois is a forward thinking but old school gamer from New Jersey (who loves Kevin Smith movies as a member of that state!) who is partially of Japanese descent and she's totally glamorous. She's been gaming for practically as long as she's been alive with a early-on fascination for Kid Icarus as her favorite franchise. She's a total hipster for Nintendo as well appreciating cult classics from them. She definitely has a soft spot for JRPGs, which is an obvious inspiration why she joined the campaign of Operation Rainfall at it's launch. Xenoblade Chronicles then became another one of her favorite franchises as the result of this. She's a gamer who demands quality and charm out of her games because if she doesn't get it she will let it be known.
