Blizzard took the stage at PAX East, and in the process announced a new adventure mode for Hearthstone! Called Blackrock Mountain, the new adventure mode is set to add a whole stack of new cards to the game, featuring Dragons, Goblins, Gnomes and probably a few things we don’t yet know about. Blizzard has already announced a few new cards, including one of the new legendary minions, Rend Blackhand.
This adventure mode will work identically to the previous one, Curse of Naxxramas. New content will be unlocked every week for five weeks. Each addition (each new “wing” of the adventure) will have a series of challenges and a boss, with a new card unlocked when you beat them. The challenges will get you regular cards, while the bosses will get you legendary cards.
Each wing will be available for purchase separately, or you can pay for access to all 5 wings at once, and get each one as soon as it unlocks. If you preorder, you also get a special card back to use. The wings will cost either 700 in game gold, or $6.99. If you buy all five wings at once, you get it for the reduced price of $24.99. Blackrock Mountain releases some time in April.
