Were you born in the 90s? Did you like Nintendo? Then maybe you enjoyed Donkey Kong Country. No, not the game; the mid-90s 3D animated cartoon series. It starred Donkey Kong and his friends as the protected the mythical Crystal Coconut from the evil King K. Rool and his henchmen. Originally animated in France, it ran for 2 seasons starting in 1996 in the United States.

Well, if you were a fan, then good news for you. Donkey Kong Country – The Complete 1st Season, is coming out on DVD. The collection is being released by Phase 4 Films as a 3-disk set, and is set to be out on May 12th. While the animation is probably really dated by now, it still might be worth checking out if you were a fan of the series.
